Message to Participants in R2K Struggle
From C. Clark Kissinger
in the Federal Detention Center in Brooklyn

The onset of the new political administration in Washington with bipartisan support and blessings demonstrates powerfully the fundamental righteousness of the protests we mounted in Philadelphia July 30 August 3, 2000.

The establishment media charged repeatedly that we had no message. In the end this served only to highlight their fear of reporting our many messages. In fact, the R2K actions brought together anti-globalist and ecology forces with those battling white supremacy and the criminal injustice system highlighting in particular the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal.

The use of police state methods of preemptive raids, infiltration by police spies, mass arrests designed simply to clear the streets of protests, and the criminalization of oppositional speech itself, exposed the system in all its ugliness. And the widespread dropping of charges has accented the phoniness of the R2K arrests.

I may have been the first R2K defendant actually sent to jail and in my case simply for giving a speech attacking George W. Bush, the death penalty, and the railroad of Mumia. But I may not be the last, since serious felony charges are still pending against a number of people. Coming to their defense is now the order of the day.

Fighting these prosecutions not only serves to defend those who have exhibited the courage to resist, it also serves to carry our message ever more broadly into society and to further expose the system.

FREE ALL R2K DEFENDANTS!

STAND WITH MUMIA ON HIS FIRST DAY IN FEDERAL COURT!
